I can demonstrate knowledge of the changing character of American political life in “the age

The "new democracy" in the United States was due to Andrew Jackson's presidency. By his support of the common man, he made it so one had to appeal to the citizens, the average citizens, and not the learned elites. Jackson's support of the common man changed the way that presidents went about gaining votes, they now had to appeal to the popular vote and appeal to the average citizens wants.
