I can learn how to Writing Business Letters (Webtivity)

Today I learn how to compile written ideas and representations into reports and draw conclusions.
today i also learn how to follow a conventional style with page formats, fonts, and spacing that contribute to thereadability and impact of the document.
appropriately.
I understand how to provide clear and purposeful information and address the intended audience

What i did today was learned about PLAINS.

What i did today was plains. At the bottom of much of the Earths oceans, large  flat areas of the ocean floor are also called plains. There can be plains along ocean shores and plains make up much of the ocean floor. These areas are formed as material drifts down from above. For example, everybody alreadys knows that wind can carry material off mountain ranges and drop it over a large area to form a plain. Water on earths surface can be found in rivers and streams as running liquid water. In glaciers as slowly moving frozen water, or ice; and in pounds, lakes, and even the oceans, which are collections of water in low areas. The valleys a glacier travels through will change shape to become U-shaped because of erosion.

Mental Math with Whole Numbers and Decimals (Courseware/Exempt)

today i learned about how you can add or subtract or divide or multiply. in easier ways.

Thursday, March 29, 2012

i can compute areas of polygons, including rectangles, scalene triangles, equalateral triangles, rhombi, parallelograms, and trapezoids

today i learned how to find the area of any triangle. i found out that A=1/2 b*h

i am able to construct an ecosystem using successive levels of organization

i know that differences between community and ecosystem. a community is where you have many different organisms and a ecosystem is where you have one type of an organism

I can understand Time and Sequence

Today I learn how to analyze and trace an author’s development of setting in a short story.
Today I also learn how to recognize how an author reveals setting through details in a short story.
I comprehend how setting can impact plot and characters in a short story.
I also learn how to assimilate details from a short story and create a map of the described area.

What i did today was practice test 5.

What i did today was indicate whether an explosive or non-explosive eruption will occur given magma composition or vice versa. Then you have to  select the type of volcanic material that erupts, the type of volcano erupting, or the magma composition given information about a volcano or eruption. The i have to predict where volcanoes are likely to occur. The other thing you have to do is predict the effects of volcanic activity on the environment or landscape.

i can compute areas of polygons, including rectangles, scalene triangles, equalateral triangles, rhombi, parallelograms, and trapezoids.

today i learned how to find the area of triangles. i learned that A= (b*h) and then divided by 2

What i did today was some math strategies tutorial.

What i did today was strategies tutorial. Thise time i was learning the sme thing i already now but doesnt hurt to review it again. What i did was find the answer of the percent. What you can do with the percents to is moving the decimal to one place or another. The other thing is breaking down a problem down into smaller problems. You can solve the problem as a fraction too.
Today I learn how to identify, interpret, and evaluate literary elements and devices–including figurative
language, imagery, symbolism, personification, tone, and implied purpose–in literary works.
I interpret ] the ways in which poets use techniques to evoke
emotion in the reader.
Today I also learn how to identify, respond to, and analyze the effects of sound, rhythm, and rhyme in literary
works.

Using Basic Number Ideas (Courseware/Exempt)

Today i learned more about number problems... Today i got to see how to use a different technuqie to solve for my answers. You have to add substract multiply and divide. i use all of them in almost every problem... its hard.

i am able to identify cell transport, processes: diffusion, etc as necessary for cell survival

the active transport is a process in a cell where it makes more soduim inside a cell and the ATP requires energy in the cell. active transport helps withe the ATP energy. photosynthesis has to have Carbon Dioxide.

What i did today was some mortage problems.

What i did today was some math on mortage problems. Some of the mortage problem were easy because the only thing you had to do was estimated that amount of the mortage was between. You even have to find the range for each problem statement. The only math tools you need to use is your brain and calculater and paper and pencil to do thise work on mortage.
Today I learner how to  produce legible work that shows correct use of the conventions of capitalization:
abbreviations, italics, and literary titles by correcting and using  hyphens and ellipses.
Today I also learn how to work that shows accurate spelling of consonants, contractions, silent
letters, plurals, and double consonants.
I correct ending and internal punctuations (commas): dates, letters, and locations.

Using Basic Number Ideas (Courseware/Exempt)

Today I learned about how to solve problems that were kinda in story form but the problems only used stuff with numbers. like prices or how many gallons to use and stuff like that

What i did today was One way to find a percent of a decimal number.

What i did today was one way to find a percent of a decimal number. Like rewrite the percent as a decimal. Multiply the decimjals. when multiplying decimals, first rewrite any decimals as a whole numbers and multiply. Then insert the decimal point in the correct position and you have to solve it out.
Today I learn how apply a useful strategy for each of three kinds of questions found on
standardized reading tests: sentence completion, analogy, and passage comprehension.
I also learn how to identify the meanings of words derived from that term, given a scientific
term, a set of word parts, and a rule.

i can find measures of interior and exterior angles of polygons, and justify the method used

i finished the tutorial and started the application for Summing Up Angles. i learned that to find the sum of the angles of a polygon you subtract the number of sides by 2 and multiply by 180. i also learned that no matter how many sides a convex figure has, the exterior angles always equal 360 degrees.
